Katherine Jackson Says She Was Kept From Communicating With The Kids While In Arizona

-
Katherine Jackson, the mother of the late pop superstar Michael Jackson, says in court
papers she was kept from communicating with outsiders while at a resort in Tucson and
was unaware she had been reported missing.
Katherine Jackson declared in court papers obtained Thursday that she had no idea she
was the subject of a search until she accidentally heard a TV report. She said she was told
her doctor had ordered her to rest and she was flown to Arizona. At a spa, her cell phone
was confiscated along with her IPad and she said she was kept in a room with no working
phone or TV service. She said she asked about Michael’s children and was told they were
fine.

Katherine Jackson Back as Guardian of MJ’s Children
Katherine Jackson has been reinstated as the permanent guardian of Micheal Jackson’s
children. Her grandson, TJ, will serve as a temporary co-guardian. A California judge rein-
stated Katherine’s guardianship at a court hearing today. It was suspended last month after
she traveled to Arizona and was out of touch with Prince Michael, Paris Michael, and Prince
Michael II for days. TJ, who was named the temporary guardian for the King of Pop’s kids,
will remain a co-guardian of the trio pending another hearing.  In today’s hearing, Judge
Mitchell Beckloff said an investigator visited Katherine’s Calabasas, Calif. home Friday and
had a “glowing review” of how she’s taking care of the children.  “I think the kids are in terri-
fic hands, I really do,” Beckloff said, adding “All the controversy you told me [last week]
caused me concern, but I’m certain Mrs. Jackson is doing a terrific job.”  Diana Ross, who
was named as a backup guardian in Michael’s will, met with the family Wednesday and was
“very pleased” with the situation.  For now, Beckloff ordered the $70,000 per month family
allowance to continue to be paid according to Katherine’s directions. All the household staff-
ing, including hiring and firing, will need to have a joint consent from Katherine and TJ.
There will be a hearing on Aug. 22 to decide whether TJ becomes a permanent co-guardian,
which Beckloff said is very likely based on the positive report he received.
